The VAIO power is back!!!

The laptop industry is an emerging market these days with people prefering the lappies than it’s older brother, desktops. We have certainly seen companies releasing vibrant models trageting the youth. At one point Sony Vaio was not able to cache in the market owing to its poor pricing. Now the Vaio seems to be a viable option with its competitive pricing.

Few days back Sony India launched the all new new Vaio E Series with vibrant, glossy and matte colour options. The all new E series looks better and more vibrant. It comes in a number of screen sizes as well as configurations.  The company has styled it in such a manner that it is sure to stand out from the crowd.

The E Series laptops come in glossy basic colours. The Square gradation finishes are well complemented by the glossy vivid colours. The colours available are blue, pink, green, black and white with dot gradation. The best part is the silver colour Vaio logo that “floats” on the notebook’s top panel surely adds to the depth and the richness, like a glass full of water that is about to pour off the edge.

The best part is that the company has priced the new laptops competitively with the all new  E-series available at a starting price of Rs 34,990 for both 35.56 cms and 39.37 cms screen sizes respectively. The new range of laptops will now be available across  all Sony Center stores and retail partners across the country.

Toshiba Portege R700 – The cool one!!!

It is a well known fact that Dell and Hewlett Packard (HP) are two dominant players in the laptop market. But come one let us not underestimate the performance of the Laptops and notebooks from other manufacturers as well. Companies like HCL, Lenova and Toshiba are coming up with some exciting models.

Toshiba is one company that has been underplaying in this market. I personally feel that they come out with some of the best performance oriented laptops. After a worldwide launch of the Toshiba Portege R700 slim business laptop, Toshiba India has decided to bring the lappie to India as well. Generally the problem we face with laptops is that it gets heated up on excessive usage. Now to do away that problem, the Portege has a 13.3. inch screen and boasts of the “Airflow Cooling Technology”. This brilliant technology  co-developed  with Intel  allows the Toshiba to sport an Intel Core i3/ i5 processor.

Apart from that the Portege R700 comes with a 8GB of RAM and Toshiba claims that the laptop can run up to eight hours on a single battery charge. The Toshiba also has a built-in optical drive that has a “Hard Drive Impact Sensor” . This sensor will protect the hard drive from any kinds of shocks and rough usage. With such technology implmented in this laptop,  the pricing of the Toshiba Portege R700 is fairly competitive between the Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 75,000 range depending on the system specifications.
